This season was characterized by overcast days, stormy weather, and not so many fish. Even so, we were able to make the most of it. Much of our off time was spent in beautiful, remote wilderness. We explored terraced streams, kayaked to black sand beaches, foraged for berries, and even climbed a mountain or two. The vast, untouched natural expanses of mountain and sea makes landscape photography almost too easy. Coupled with all the unique boats out there, fishing in Alaska can be a photographer’s dream. I’m lucky enough to also have it be my job.
